Our new Firelight is a hybrid pack, built for when you need to carry more than the minimum, but stay light and fast. Riding on the suspension of our IA Frame, this pack combines our proven and fully adjustable Hotshot Yoke and M4 belt systems. Designed primarily for Initial Attack, the Firelight still has enough space to carry you through a long shift when the incident rolls hot into the next operational period and you're pushing a hoselay further down the flank, or leading a dozer around the head of a wind-driven fire. This pack rides low on the back and distributes its weight through the wearer’s hips and core to maintain maximum mobility, balance, and athleticism during the widely varied operations encountered in the fire environment.
The Firelight is a low profile asymmetrical design which allows us to tuck that dense, heavy fire shelter up in the user's lumbar where it rides securely, and can be accessed rapidly. An open-wing bottle pocket on the user's left holds a minimum of two quarts, two Sigg bottles, or anything else you might need to pack. Fusees stow securely in the flapped sleeve on the back of the bag. The main compartment of the bag is built with a reservoir pocket and is ported for hydration, while compression straps can be used to haul flaked hose, banjo canteens, or any other awkward load. A detail pocket on the back organizes your incidentals and small items. Both the waistbelt and bottom of the bag have Alice Web for accessories. The lumbar and yoke systems work together to create stability and facilitate speed during any operation, whether you're stringing a hoselay through double-overhead chapparal, wrapping houses with protection lines in the urban interface, or dragging fire alongside freeways in any region of the country.
