A tactical expedition pack with room for everything.

For extended RECCE missions or bulkier items, the 6500 is our classic top loading tactical expedition pack. One of our most popular packs, this classic top-loading design features our Speedzip™ sleeping bag compartment on the bottom and a removable Day Pack lid. Based on the NICE Frame system, this pack can carry 70 pounds in comfort and will stabilize loads surpassing 100 pounds. A side zipper allows quick access to the internal contents of bag.

  • The NICE Frame is a rigid yet dynamic system that moves with you. The frame consists of three vertical and three horizontal carbon fiber stays and a full fabric panel between the stays that absorbs shock and increases the flexibility of the frame. This patented construction allows the frame to flex with your body, resulting in top-down load transfer to comfortably carry heavy loads. The Futura Yoke easily micro adjusts to the torso length allowing the proper amount of stand-off between the back and frame.
  • The BVS – Bolstered Ventilation and Stability system– allows for a stable, secure fit over body armor and can be easily removed.
  • Classic top-loading design for easy packing
  • PALS webbing accommodates MOLLE accessories
  • Speedzip™ compartment for quick access to sleeping bag
  • Side bottle pockets keep hydration handy
  • Removable Daypack Lid with shoulder straps to move further without all sustainment gear
  • Vertical back-long pockets
  • Side zipper access
  • Bolsters can be easily removed
  • Built of custom spec’d 500D CORDURA® with DWR and PU coatings for maximum durability, UV, and weather protection
  • Water-repellent, IR Compliant YKK® zippers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeatable Pack!I bought this pack because I was tired of not being able to fit everything I need into my issued ruck and let me tell you this pack DID NOT disappoint. Not only can I fit everything I could possibly need with ease, but this pack makes it easier to keep the weight off the lower back, but somehow makes carrying 70 pounds feel like 40. I've had this pack for about a year and a half now with at least 200 mi of rucking, to include five commando courses and it just won't quit! Only complaint is that the gucci back panel has gotten slightly frayed from rubbing on my vest, but other than that she still looks brand new. Quality product for sure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best multi-day pack out thereI bought my 6500 in 2011 (10 years ago) after using a different (excellent) MR pack on deployment. I originally bought it with intentions of using it for military RTO missions AND personal hunting trips. I have not been disappointed and cannot praise MR enough for the design and quality of this bag. I've used it with weights ranging from 35 to 100+ lbs for short and long distances. Every time I put it on it feels like I'm carrying pillows regardless of the weight. And it moves smoothly whether I'm running or walking. I love the adjustability of the NICE frame to my longer torso for a perfect fit. It is spendy but I expect this to last at least another 10 years, so it is worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb pack.I've used this for personal backpacking/protracted expeditions, multi-day narcotic enforcement back-country and coastal operations, and also law enforcement tactical deployments (mainly in back country/rural properties). All in all, this is the best ruck/pack I've ever owned and that includes my military enlistment period with the 325th PIR (82nd ABN DIV) and 187 INF (101st ABN DIV). I seriously wish I had this pack back when I was enlisted for we did not have state-of-the-art packs back then (just U.S.G.I. gear). Without a doubt, the Mystery Ranch framing system (which accompanies this pack) is a piece of art in and of itself. One cannot go wrong purchasing/obtaining/deploying this pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It can take a beating!!This pack is Awesome! I work in the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare industry and have logged more than 850 field days (rough estimate of 6 years working more than half the year on expedition) with this pack already and it's still going strong! Only things that have needed replacing are a few buckles. This bag has seen more field time than most guides will ever see in their professional lives and more than any weekend warrior will see period, all it shows for it is a minor wear hole in the exterior pocket and the material of the yoke has the lightest amount of fraying. I've never been able to fill this bag despite food, water, gear, and toys. It's been packed to 95-100 lbs and doesn't feel much heavier (once it's on) then it did at 60lbs. It's awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy once, cry once. When my 3200 cu in pack was just too small, I went full tilt and got the MR 6500. I heard from friends that this was stellar but the price was daunting. When the box arrived, I opened it and saw the most beautiful thing to strap to your back. It is a work of art. If it performs anything in the field like the quality stiching, incredible layout, and design, then the tears of my wallet will be a forgotten memory; my friends say it does.In closing, if you want the best, it will cost you. This is that! "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ruckIt's a sweet ruck with a lot of space. I'm a Force Recon team leader and it's awesome for long patrols the only bad thing is that I bought it think it came with a radio pouch. The video on the webpage at the time of purchasing explicitly says it has a radio pouch. It no longer has this radio pouch. You have to buy a radio pouch molle attachment for an extra 40 bucks. If you're an RTO looking for a ruck consider looking at some of their other models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome RuckI picked up one of these a few years ago before a multi-week military training exercise and it was worth it's weight (which was a lot) in gold. I have trained with this pack, deployed with it, and used it for backpacking trips in the Rockies and the Appalachians it has stood up to anything that I could throw at it. Spacious, comfortable and durable, would recommend this or any Mystery Ranch pack to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny....I've bought all kinds of packs and none have worked out due to the fact that none were strong enough, roomy enough, or were just plain uncomfortable. It kills me that l wasted so much money on other packs that we're okay for your average person, but was nowhere near what l was looking for until l bought this ruck.It fit the bill perfectly!I was so frustrated before that so many manufacturers are focusing on the ultralight craze and while it's nice that the packs are light and all.....but for my purposes....they suck.I love this thing.....strong, roomy, comfy, and looks great!Expensive?.....yes.Worth it!.......HECK YEAH!
