If you have one of the original Guide Light frames from MYSTERY RANCH, you can now attach it to a new Guide Light MT® pack to it. The video below walks you through the process of using this kit to change out the buckles.

Now here's a suggestion for MR... build your own pack? If you care more about saving verses spending and dont care about matching colors, this is the way to go. Thank you Mystery Ranch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sean W from Buckle colors are different than originalFor starters, the buckles work as advertised and I am happy with the functioning of the actual components. What really bothers me is that the colors of the buckles do not match. The old pack frame has black buckles but the conversion kit comes with tan. Really it's not a huge deal but it does bother me every time I pick up the pack. Mystery Ranch has always had high-quality products and I have owned a few. I really hope this is not a sign of things to come with the quality.

Im not even sure what my frame is actually but it doesnt have the upper load lifter stays. this buckle kit allowed me to but a Pintler bag on my pretty darn old frame and it fit super solid. I am mostly excited to get to upgrade to a bag and get the same load carrier capability as any of the new hunting packs. Ive read some reviews that swapping the buckles is a chore and it honestly is not bad at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Turbhome from Great Kit!I ordered this to install the Mule bag to my MR Nice frame. It had everything I needed to convert the bag to fit the older frame. The one con is that you need to use a male buckle from the bottom frame strap to attach the Mule's load shelf. This causes one to remove and autolock buckle and reinstall anytime you switch bags. Why not just add the two buckles to the kit. All in all it's great the Mystery Ranch offers the kit for those of us with the older frames.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jmyers from Very easy to swap out packs on existing frameI originally purchased the older Marshall pack. I wanted a smaller pack to Bow hunt with and pack my tree stand in and out. Purchased the Plinter bag only and got the back to the future kit. After watching the provided video I was able to swap out the bags and keep my frame to haul deer out (still waiting for that opportunity). But I can attach my stand to the bag and comfortably go into public land well further than most.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Eric from UnderwhelmingI purchased a new bag to replace one that was damaged several years ago. I have zero complaints with the new bag, or my existing frame. They are both outstanding quality. I only needed two of the new buckles out of the kit, so I’m a little disappointed. I will recommend the buckle kit only because it would be hard to source the right ones elsewhere.

Should’ve never changed the buckles, unless they’re some how absurdly stronger. But they work. Easy enough to swap the buckles once you get the hang of popping the little lock piece out of each buckle and then doing the webbing.
