Love Is King is a foundation that believes that the freedom to roam in nature is an undeniable basic human right. As inhabitants of planet earth, it’s all of our moral obligations to take action for each other – ensuring that ALL people are guaranteed a welcoming, safe and inspiring experience in the outdoors.

Through education, empathy, respect, and personal responsibility, Love is King is on a mission to activate and empower a humanitarian movement, one that raises awareness and collective consciousness around restrictions and fear of outdoor access by minorities and individuals across an array of life experiences without discrimination. Here, these personal stories, images, history, culture, and leadership are represented, valued, and celebrated. 

It’s their mission to inspire new conversations, explore new points of view, and shift perspectives to guarantee everyone has access to their basic human rights. Love is King exists because people of color deserve a voice. They deserve an advocate and deserve action to ensure the freedom to roam is unhindered, unlimited, and unforgettable. 

Chad Brown founded the organization in an attempt to raise awareness around the hate and racism he had faced in the outdoors and normalize the difference in experience for BIPOC individuals. An experienced woodsman, Chad pursues his love for the outdoors through fly fishing, hunting, and navigating the backcountry with youth and veterans, while teaching about conservation.

"Even I cannot walk away from the cloud that hovers over me when it comes to hate, bigotry, and racism in the outdoors. I also realized that this dark cloud does not stop with BIPOC and is over many women and many other individuals who walk with fear in the outdoors. Love is King was founded to help create a support network for BIPOC, the elderly, and the handicapped who are not able to speak for themselves, and for them to know they have a community of "Love is King guardians" that are available for their support, to ensure safety and welcome access. They can be able to create wonderful positive memories."

Chad Brown is a Brand Ambassador for MYSTERY RANCH.

MYSTERY RANCH speaks to strong outdoor men and women, especially service professionals such as the military, firemen and women, EMS, veterans, and police officers. These professional industries of service are ingrained into the heart of our community of service, protecting the innocent and support positive, healthy living for many folks through our communities. This service is parallel with Love is King and its initiative to promote welcome access and safety in the outdoors for all people, especially BIPOC's. It is in the heart of humanity and the spirit of community."

A membership is a platform to become a guardian for Love is King. We seek our guardians by finding those looking to serve beyond themselves for others, like BIPOC, LBGTQ+, women, elderly, and other individuals who struggle with the fear of being alone without a community for safety. Love is King looks towards the MYSTERY RANCH community for well-rounded guardians of the outdoors who are verses in backcountry first aid, fishing, hunting, backpacking, etc. MYSTERY RANCH is an established company of the outdoor community and has a strong reputation of knowledge and respect to backcountry professionals and holds many ambassadors of leaders.
