Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pack but don't plan on carrying water!I have two are Mystery Ranch packs so when I saw this super light pack I knew I had to have it. It is well constructed and is made of really durable fabric yet lightweight. It is far better than comparable daypacks I have seen and purchased. I think it will take a beating without any harm. I only have one complaint. The stretch side pocket for a water bottle is ridiculously narrow. A typical smart water bottle will fit, but only with wrestling the pack around for quite some time. I thought perhaps there was a drawstring I was not seeing that could adjust the opening, but I fear it simply was not designed with adequate sizing for most water bottles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs great--a bit of a mystery to fold back up! :)I took this up Mount Monadnock this weekend on a snowy, icy scramble to the top. I was carrying water, an extra raincoat, some protein bars, and ended up putting a heavy coat inside too until we neared the top. In other words, not too heavy--but nevertheless the load stayed firm and tight against my back, with full movement for my shoulders and arms (which was necessary as I had to use my hands to climb through the snow and ice) and no sloshing around or shifting of weight. Performance was great and it's super light. My only suggestion is for Mystery Ranch to post a video of how to fold it back up again and put it in the middle pouch (the middle, not the top, pouch is the key).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor QualityAfter carrying this pack for less than 30 total miles with less than 3 pounds in it at any given time, in less than two months of owning this pack, it is falling apart. Shouted & super disappointed in the fabric quality!!!! I tried giving MR the benefit of the doubt of receiving a lemon / a bad one in the batch, but they want me to pay to have it repaired. For a company that prides themselves on durability, this was a complete waste of money. I have had REI Flashpacks that I carried for 3+ years on much more extreme trails that held up better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little bag. Holds a Nalgene fine. This is my third MR bag. I just finished a two month trip with this bag in Asia where I used it every single day. It’s lightweight, super packable, durable and much more comfortable than most other day bags of this type. It isn’t waterproof but should keep your stuff dry in light rain for a bit. Plenty of room for all your essentials, plus a little more. It absolutely holds a Nalgene, at least mine does. I used it traveling, hiking and climbing. If you need a good all around daypack buy this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!The description of this day pack does not do it justice. There are so many great features. The bag actually folds up into itself using the mesh pocket in the front, making it very compact if you are putting it inside a larger pack. I'm not sure how the mesh will hold up over the long haul though; time will tell. I've used the pack a handful of times and so far it seems like a very thought out, great product. Pros: Very lightweight; several storage pockets; mesh pocket on outside fits a 32oz Nalgene bottle; pocket inside to hold hydration system although bag easily fits 3L hydration system inside; holes for hydration hose on both sides; breathable strapsCons: I wish there was a cinch mechanism to hold the hydration system higher inside the pack. I added a cinch so the hydration sits higher up on my back. I added a photo of the original mechanism used inside the pack before I switched it out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from love this pack but....This is an awesome summer daypack. No waist band which I thought might be a problem but the design works so you don't need one. Sufficient room for a few jackets along with emergency supplies and a lunch. So why only 3 stars? Mystery Ranch needs to fix their water bottle holder. Even with an empty pack, the elastic band makes it extremely difficult to insert a bottle. The bottle I'm using isn't too big, its their band, which is too tight and wide, that has me spending a lot of time inserting the bottle. I like to take my bottle out while hiking and then reinsert while I keep hiking. This design prohibits that.If they ever fix that flaw, the only thing I'd recommend is a second pocket on the opposite outside for holding things like binoculars, a water cup for my dog, or sunglasses and a hat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool lightweight packThis is a great little bag for quick "in-and-out" missions - hiking, fishing, travelling, shopping, or just bopping around town. The pack has enough pockets to keep you organized, and carries well considering how lightweight and minimal the shoulder straps are. The water bottle pocket holds a small water bottle fine (and will take a regular quart-size Nalgene bottle if you use two hands). The pack stuffs into its own pocket - ideal for travel or for keeping at the ready in a vehicle. I am able to carry water, shell, light puffy, snacks, and a camera in the pack with some room to spare. I can carry a fishing rod in the side pocket as well. Keep in mind there is no frame sheet so anything angular in shape may poke your back a little unless you consider this when packing the bag. Of all my packs this one is getting the most use right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great MR designI bring this bag everywhere, in my carryon or checked luggage. There is a loop on the bag when it's packed in it's sleeve. I clip it onto a belt loop when I'm out exploring a new city and fill it with purchases. That said, this bag is well-built and can also be used to support a hike while your main carry on pack is back in your room. Perfect for travelers who plan on getting in some fun during a business trip. Packs away to a size smaller than a hardcover book and way lighter.
