Rated 1 out of 5 by from Squeaky strap on a great bagI've had this bag for several months now and the bag itself is awesome. The strap though (specifically the attachment points) is absolute garbage. The plastic rotating clips on the ends of the strap squeak very loudly when your walking and the bag moves. Walking with the strap over your shoulder all you hear is squeak, squeak, squeak in your ear like the reverberations are amplified by the strap. For the money why are the clips and swivels made of metal like aluminum. I'm going to try and buy a different strap or I'm going to retire the bag... It's a shame because the bag itself is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite casual business briefI've owned four different casual briefcases over the years and after owning it for a few months, the Mystery Ranch 3 Way Expandable Briefcase is by far my favorite. It's well built, rugged, lighter than leather, looks good, well thought out internal design, and expandable with hidden backpack straps. I did a couple slight modifications, where I replaced the lightweight zipper pull on the front magnetic snap, with a heavy duty zipper pull, then replaced all other zipper pulls, and I carefully removed the Mystery Ranch logo on the front. It gives it a more business casual and clean look while maintaining unparalleled functionality. I love it and would absolutely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs redesignedOverall it’s a nice briefcase, but when you compare it to the non cc version I can’t tell why it cost more, they took off all but one waterproof zipper and just added Velcro in places it’s not useful. If I wanted to conceal carry in it and have quick access to the firearm I’d put it in the front pocket which has no Velcro to attach a holster to. They should’ve also included metal clips for the strap instead of the plastic ones that squeak every time you take a step. If your heart is set on a mystery ranch briefcase buy the cheaper one and replace the clips, you’ll be much happier with the waterproofing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not really A CC bagEverything about the bag is great, minus 2 things. In the "CC" outer pocket, there is no straps, or pocket to actually accommodate a holster, and the other pockets provided won't hold or fit a standard double stack 9mm magazine. You can clip a holster over the outside edge of the opening, but then the holster clips are visible making it less than concealed.Sure the quick opening function is nice, but if you actually need to use it have a firearm that isn't secured in a consistent manner or retention for a spare magazine make it in fact, useless, or dangerous to attempt to employ. The only other gripe I have is the lack of padding on the shoulder strap. Everything else about the bag is great, but without some revision it shouldn't be marketed as a CC bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good so far, one glaring design choice. On the job the bag has been great, the molle/velcro patch has been great for keeping rip-away medic bags and other pouches. No real complaints there, although if some extra space were diverted from the main compartment to the molle/laptop area it would make actively using that compartment worlds better. There is one glaring choice made that I cannot understand, and its with that compartment that sets the difference between the CC model and its non-CC counterpart. The zipper used for the molle/velcro/padded-laptop compartment has a regular zipper. Not the same water-resistant zipper present on the non-CC model. The zipper on both models sits flush with the padded laptop compartment. The zipper is right above the laptop-compartment. There in lies the issue. See the attached photos, that were not my own but taken from their own website product photos.I work in an environment subject where rain isn't consistent, but when it does it occur it is heavy for brief moments. I keep legal documents in the padded area, not my work laptop. It wasn't rain that did in the documents, it was the condensation from my energy drink. I was carrying the bag as a briefcase, cradled in my arm with a closed energy drink in my hand to open the door. Had it rained, the documents wouldn't have been salvageable. Better yet, if I were to use a molle-mounted handgun holster the last thing I'd want is to let water get on to the loop-lined portion of the bag let alone my gun.Having the zipper-seam right above the designated laptop compartment is terrible, but I assume they realized that then solved it with the water-resistant zipper which they then took away. Then they call it CC, add a molle/velcro area, tack on $5-15 extra, and say its for professionals. I'd have rather paid more for the zipper already present on the "regular" model instead of get a product with a glaring cost-saving measure taken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Daily BriefcaseHave been using this briefcase daily for the past several weeks and am happy with it. It's just the right size for a laptop, charging cables, misc electronics, glasses, keys, headphones, back up battery, files and CC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zee. Oh. Em. Gee.Yo, this pack is my jam. I can grab it and throw it in the truck with ease, pack my entire gaming computer and accessories AND a full change of clothes. Zipping down to satchel for quick access and secure snap due to magnet back for front pocket is the beez’! When the rains a comin’ BAM back pack with a duck cover to protect my goodies. Note pads, lap top, bang bang pow and some SOL gear for a bad day. This bag is my jam. Only draw back, I need to buy some patches so the cool kids don’t make fun of my “grown up” lookin’ briefcase. This is my favorite, most comfortable, most versatile go bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work bagUsed this bag for two weeks now and it’s been a great bag thus far. It’s low profile and fits everything I need. I use a Lenovo legion 15” and it barely fits into the computer zipper so be wary of that for your laptop. I keep an IFAC and my conceal carry in the bag as well and it’s ample room.
