Our largest, backcountry hunting pack.

Like its namesake – the Bob Marshall Wilderness – this expedition pack is expansive, accessible and full of surprises. Sitting on the sturdy, new Guide Light MT™ Frame, you can load it from the top via the shroud access, get to all your gear from the side through the full-length, dual side zips and store a sleeping bag in the bottom Speedzip™. After a long stalk and a clean shot, the OVERLOAD® feature allows you to push the weight limits of what’s humanly possible on a packout. Expedition hunts feel like second nature when you carry the MARSHALL.

  • The new GUIDE LIGHT MT™ FRAME (Mystery Tech) continues the load carriage tradition of the tried- and-true Guide Light Frame™ and its rigid yet dynamic frame system, but with a few discrete changes. Utilizing custom-developed SJ Autolock buckles throughout, this new hardware collection provides the perfect blend of strength and weight. The 500D Light Plus fabric delivers high tensile and tear resistance, key characteristics for a robust, purpose-driven hunting frame.
  • The five-point waist belt incorporates the highly functional Redirect system and delivers solid weight distribution and eliminates slippage over your hips, regardless of the load.
  • OVERLOAD® feature provides functional expandability via a load sling between the pack and the frame, allowing you to put the bulk of the weight closest to your back for optimal comfort.
  • The patented Futura Yoke easily micro adjusts to the torso length allowing the proper amount of stand-off between the back and frame.
  • Removable Daypack Lid with shoulder straps
  • Top-loading shroud for easy/secure packing
  • Hydration reservoir compatible
  • Two external long pockets for rapid access and sized for spotting scopes
  • Daisy chain for attaching accessories
  • Speedzip™ compartment for easy access to sleeping bag
  • Bottom and side compression straps
  • Side zip for easy access to main bag
  • Quick attach frame cap hardware provides easier OVERLOAD™ feature conversion
  • Removable Quick Attach Zoid Bag included (attaches on inside of side zips)
  • Autolock buckles prevent slippage
  • Side water bottle, rifle or tripod pockets
  • 500D LP CORDURA® & 500D CORDURA® (Subalpine)
  • YKK® coated zippers for durability and water protection
  • Autolock SJ buckles on compression straps

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing packI just received my Marshall and ave used it for a couple hikes just to test it out. This is a very comfortable pack. I originally had the wrong size belt and MR was quick to send me a new one so also a huge shout out to MR for their customer service. It is a little overwhelming at first. There are a ton of clips and straps. So far I have been able to navigate through all the fastex buckles and find the various ways to adjust the pack. I even through a fairly large log in a bag then buckled it into the load hauler and carried that for awhile. It was an awkward, heavy load but it still carried very comfortably. Cannot wait to use this hunting this fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pack!I bought this pack a month ago and it is absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to pack my first bull elk out with it and it performed better than expected! I have back issues and have struggled to find a pack that I could load with a lot of weight and still be comfortable, but this takes the cake. It's a bit much for a day pack, but I don't mind it as I am ready with everything I need at my finger tips once an animal is on the ground. I would highly suggest this pack for any big game hunter or back country hunter. Only downside is the price tag, but I still think well worth the bang for the buck (pun intended)!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Big, Well-Made Pack that Carries SmallI hunt Ohio Whitetails in weather from 60-70 degrees to 5 degrees or so, getting to my hunting places before daylight and leaving most times after dark. Especially in the colder temps, the Marshall allows me to carry in bulky Sitka bibs and jackets, food, water and extra layers that make it possible to stay in the field all day. I cannot wear my warmest items on the hike in as it would make me sweat and become cold. I tried several brands of packs until I finally bit the bullet and bought my Marshall. Now I’m going to sell my others and use MR from now on, and the Marshall will be a trusted piece of kit until I can no longer hunt later in life. It’s that good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pack but I’d like to see a few changesJust finished using this pack at an Army Sniper Competition and overall i loved this pack. I only have a few changes I’d like to see for the future. A side access zipper on both sides would help out tremendously. Also I encountered an issue when grabbing the shoulder straps to put the pack on. On several occasions when grabbing the strap the load lifters would come completely loose. This may be an issue on my part, but definitely became frustrating. This pack however is extremely comfortable and at times I even forgot that I was wearing a ruck with 50lbs of gear. Great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge pack to do it allI bought this pack as soon as I saw it come back in stock. It is huge! But that isn't a bad thing. Honestly I bought this pack to hunt backcountry elk out west. This thing is designed to be able to take everything you need to survive into the field with you. You don't really need anything this big if you hunt out of a base camp and return every night. That being said, if you buy the mule bag only with this you can take the marshall bag off and attach the mule bag to the guidelight frame, they are interchangeable, and use it as a day bag. Then you have the best of both worlds. A small day pack and a long backcountry pack. The loadhaul shelf is actually really easy to use. YouTube can teach you anything

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome packI bought this pack to use on a Dall Sheep Hunt in Alaska. Packed everything I’d need except food in it for a ten day hunt and used it as a checked bag for my flight. Once in Alaska I pair up with a buddy and we dialed our gear in and left for the hunt. The pack swallowed all of my gear with no issues. I had a 50lb weight limit due to the bush plane and it made carrying my load a breeze. The vertical pockets are perfect for a spotter and tripod and I even used the lid to carry them on short scouting trips as a waist pack. The sleeping bag compartment easily packed my 20* bag and I used it for transporting all of my wet goods on the hike out. I climbed approximately 15k vertical feet on my trip and crossed about 30 streams and the pack felt like it was a part of me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big bag with great featuresThe Marshall is a great bag. It has plenty room for everything you need on an extended backcountry hunt. A few of my favorite features are the lid, the sleeping bag compartment and the side pockets. The side pockets are great for a water bottle and holding your gun while hiking into your hunting spot. The sleeping bag compartment holds all your bulky, lightweight equipment, where you want it, at the bottom of the bag. And the lid is perfect for when you set out on your final stalk and just need the essentials. I would recommend this bag to anyone looking for extra room for all your equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bombproof Comfort!I've used the Marshall for the last 4 years guiding sheep, moose, caribou, goats, and bears in the Rocky Mountains of Northern BC -- approx 500 days in the field. It has been thrown in and out of Jetboats, roped down cliffs in the winter, strapped onto pack horses, and used as a chair and shooting rest. Legitimate 100+ lb packouts and never had a puncture, tear, or seam blow. I was recommended them from fellow guides and outfitters for their comfort under load, and their industry leading durability. Keep it up MR!
