Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Civilian PackI've done a lot of rucking in some intense military circles, but wanted something to go backpacking with my kids and wife that didn't draw a lot of attention. This is a great civilian pack. Having only owned it for about five months, I've used it extensively in the Olympic National Park - going out for 6/7 days at a time with 75/80lbs in all weather (rain and snow). It's rugged - and I truly appreciate having the overload feature. As with all my experiences with Mystery Ranch, their strap system makes it much easier to carry than other tactical systems I've used (MOLLE, ALICE, and Tactical Taylor's MALICE).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very well for huntingI was looking for a hunting pack to replace my Kuiu ultra, which was a failure during my Alaska moose and mountain goat hunts last year. It just couldn't handle the weight and I needed a better frame. This pack resembles one of the hunting packs and has expandable load carrying capabilities, and REI gave me a deal on it. I just used it for a DIY caribou hunt in the Innoko Wildlife Refuge in Alaska that was up in the mountains. This pack was sooo much better. It is more rigid, well made and strong. We camped high, but had to climb up to hunt and down to get water. This pack was with me all the way. As a former Army Infantry Officer who has carried more packs than most any human and bought more hunting packs trying to find the right one...I think I'm done. This might be my last pack ever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty PackBought this pack at the end of the season. The thing that sold me was the fit, the weight distribution is excellent. Sized it to fit my torso and hips, I am very happy with that. On the down side, the pack weighs more than your standard off the shelf back pack, it's noticeable. A bit disappointed that it has no accessory pouches on the hip belt for easy access items. It also could have an internal basket (lid) to keep my sleeping bag down when I put it in the lower zipper access. These are small things. This pack is built to last, everyone says it will be the last pack that I will own. Excited to put it to the test in the field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Underrated great packAfter a year and a half of trying 10+ packs. Many brands and models, It came down to two other brands, then I discovered mystery ranch 80. I'm 5'8 180 lbs. I carry 50 loud nine. By far, I mean, by far, the most comfortable pack of them all for my the heavy loading. The xtra cargo option is perfect for a cooler and my favorite chair. The Cordura nylon is some of the best in back pack materialsP. But above all, as I said, after 10 miles of rough tails, It felt good, zero discomfort. I wasnt dying to take it off my bwck with so much weight. The carbon frame is awesome. I love it. This pack is a perfect ten, even if it has no belt pockets. No biggie. It's the perfect pack to carry your heavy load anywhere

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes a great hunting packSkeptical at first how this would serve as my hunting pack but it works great. I carried around 70lbs at elevation for nearly 35 miles over the course of a week and it was very comfortable. The pack is very well built and after rugged exposure on some trips it still shows very little signs of use. I did buy an extra buckle strap to secure my bow to the pack when hiking. Highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing backpack. But one small thingI've had this bag for almost a month and it's been amazing. I've been using this for backpacking and in the future I'll be doing some camping in the spring, the frame in minimalistic but strong and offers amazing stability. The overflow feature on the frame allows me to carry a one person tent which is perfect but it can be used for so much more. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 out of 5 is its a little lacking when it comes to pockets on the inside for organization, But that's a small price to pay for the 77 liters of storage which has been perfect for my needs. Another amazing product mystery ranch keep it up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carries wellI use this pack to haul my large format camera system into the backcountry and the main compartment is plenty big for that and the rest of the pack is more than enough for all the other requisite hiking gear including winter gear for the snowier months. Loaded to 55 to 65 pounds it carries very well and feels lighter. It is a good combination of the weight carrying properties of an external frame with the pack style of an internal frame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great packUse the for backcountry hikes in the Shenandoah Mountains. I have used numerous military ILBE packs and this is by far the most versatile and comfortable pack.
