Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid pack for daily commuteI use it for the office and works great, looks great while discreet, and 18l format is perfect for laptop, docs and gym without being too bulky.Only place for improvement for me would be a removable sternum strap, as it’s not required on most days and ends up tangling on clothing/headphones more often.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Chest strap attachments not as shown, no hydrationOverall the design and construction are excellent, but the chest strap attachments shown on the MR website are the usual removable kind, and those on the pack are non-removable molded plastic. I don’t think it’s a lot to ask that the pictures match the product. The lack of a hydration port is also a really bonehead move, because virtually every backpack comes with this feature these days, and omitting it unnecessarily limits the usefulness of the pack, especially when you include an internal strap that appears designed to suspend a hydration bladder. If they wanted to keep the lines clean, they could even put the port on the mesh bottom of the top pocket, allowing you to run your hydration tube out of the top pocket zipper.Generally speaking, as a 5’11” male, I would also say that 19” is the maximum back length for someone my height who intends to run with the pack. If anything, it is better to err on the side of short with a beltless pack, because once a pack goes past the lumbar it will tend to bounce and pull on your shoulders more as you stride. That said, I suppose most people don’t run with backpacks. Not sure why.Overall, this pack gets a three because the chest straps weren’t as shown, omitting a hydration port was obnoxious, and together these points show a lack of the characteristic thoughfullness that one is told to expect from the MR brand. The new 24 might be better, but I’m not buying another pack when the first one I bought wasn’t as shown.
