I've had this pack for over a year now and decided to share my thoughts.
First, MR makes the best shoulder straps around. I originally had the camel bac/MR Linchpin pack. Great piece of gear until the zipper crapped out after 8 months of use. Granted, I use these pack daily and don’t babysit my gear, but that’s no excuse for a zipper giving out. CB has diminished in quality and it shows. The MR shoulder straps are what led me to look at their gear.
But enough about that.
The ASAP is a great little day use pack. I’ve even taken this on some rucks with added weight (40lbs) for 17 miles and it was comfortable enough. The waist strap isn’t really functional but if you were to rig it to a thicker belt, then you could let it sit on the hips more. Again, this pack really isn’t made for that in the first place.
What I like most is the molly attachments, I use this pack to train with most of the time but on the weekends that I'm out in the field, I have everything I need attached on the outside. I’m an avid hunter and this makes accessing different items (LRF, greenlight, knife, etc) much easier then opening up and digging around.
My current ASAP is covered in blood and smells like sweat. Best little pack I've ever owned.

We're moving to a kitted system so that we can design and build packs and frames that are optimized for integration based on the function of the product. There are some cool new things in the works. In the meantime, we may be able to accommodate pack only orders based on available inventory - contact MR Customer Service or call 406-585-1428
As much as we would like to be able to offer our military/LE/ firefighter customers a discount on our packs, we have government contracts in these markets that prevent us from doing so.
The only repair that we can offer on Dana Design products is a replacement back foam pad on packs with the ArcFlex body panel design. We can ship the foam to you and you can easily install it yourself without having to send the pack in to be repaired. Replacement back foam pads are $15.00 plus shipping. We are not set up to perform custom work on individual orders and no, we cannot build a pack for you in a custom color. If your concern is in regards to sizing please give us a call at 406-585-1428.
Also, please know that modifying your Mystery Ranch pack may void the lifetime warranty, so please think first before you start ripping straps off and cutting holes in your pack to make it more aerodynamic for winged flight.
First, start by washing your pack with hot water in the shower. Use a mild detergent like Dawn to get minor dirt and grime out of your pack. Dry the pack out of direct sunlight. DO NOT USE HARSH CHEMICALS TO CLEAN YOUR PACK. If you need to get odors/blood out of your hunting pack, please use Atsko Sport-Wash Laundry Detergent
We always recommend that you size down for the waist belt. If you fall in-between sizes on the yoke, we recommend that you size up.
Mystery Ranch accepts returns for a refund within 60 days of the original purchase date. Items must be returned in brand new, unused condition, and shipping charges are non-refundable. Please give us a call at 406-585-1428, and we can get you set up with a Return Authorization (RA#).

Why did you add a production facility in the Philippines?
We added a production facility at Clark Field in the Philippines because we needed the capacity to build for customers both domestic and abroad who don't require (Berry compliant) U.S. production and / or don't want to pay a premium for products built in the U.S.A
How do I know if the pack I want is made in the US or PI?
It will be noted on the product page on our website and you are always welcome to call us and ask if you don't see the "US" or "world" icons that denote production location.
Is the quality of the packs the same?
Yes. We still seek out the highest quality materials and construction methods available. We have rigorously run through every product and inspected them ourselves to certify the quality of a good matches our US standards. The quality is the same, so much that we have to mark the product so we don't confuse the two ourselves. Our distributors who have received product from the U.S. and from Clark Field have not been able to tell the difference without looking at the label.
How do you ensure the quality is the same?
Our sewers at Clark Field are trained using the same protocol we use in the United States. We spend the time to send our trainers and inspectors to the P.I. to consult and educate the sewers on our methods and quality standards. The short of it: PI production workers are trained by our people, they are our people.
Will Warranty or Repair procedures change?
No, our warranty and repair will remain the same regardless of production location. We hang our hat on being the most durable and comfortable packs on the market and that will not change.

Wow, first of all I never expected much of the attention from everyone everywhere here in Australia since I worn the pack the very first day. People keep asking me where did I get this from, They commenced on how awesome it looks, they even tried it on their back and they offered me to buy my pack at the end of the conversation.
I used to be a big friend of 5.11 Rush series backpack years ago but soon got tired of constantly getting hotspot from my back after wearing them for short period of time, with the tier system, It was a real nightmare and I couldn't understand how the design works to improve carrying heavy payload. I decided its time to change and I am sick of the packs by that status.
As a result, I spent about two months endlessly conducting my research and I came up two big well known backpack company, MR or Kifaru, and I off to MR as I am in the military, a lot of my mates used MR pack as they are boom proof, drop prove fro the helicopter during filed exercise etc.......... and Kifaru is very comfortable but they are not authorised to used within the Unit and they are not as durably built as MR. Mr got some considerable weight in their packs but that what also make their packs last forever. They are way too comfortable that I can have them on my back right now while typing this review.
I have ASAP and I love it, in fact I got addicted to the MR packs and I got my hands on the 3 DAP already,I will be purchasing my next deployment pack which will be the overload!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if you want quality, then it will come with the premium price tag and a little be more weight but a lifetime guarantee on craftsmanship as well as god durability. I have no regret about every dollar spent on MR pack, also not to mentioned their customer experience is second to none, Jordan has been more than just helpful on my purchase but he ensures the best outcome for me instead of trying to take the money and run from you. They are not only serious about their business but the people. Thanks Jordan sincerely once again and you know I will be back for sure.
I had been waffling about buying this pack for months. When I finally got it I couldn't have been happier. It is rugged, well built, and even better than I anticipated. I have taken this pack everywhere I go, from traveling, field work, and work work and it works all the way around. It has a surprisingly large capacity and the adjustments allow a perfect fit. I can and have worn this pack for days on end and never got that pack fatigue. If I could wear two I would buy another one.
