Our Original Fire Pack, Evolved.

Over a long season on a Hotshot crew, engine, or helicopter, your fire pack becomes the one thing you can truly call your own. That’s why we redesigned our flagship HOT 3—adding key tailoring touches, features that improve both comfort and function, and improved framing—because every cubic inch of a fire pack is gold to the firefighter wearing it.

  • Framing, structure, support, durability, and adjustability are what set our load bearing Hotshot packs apart from the field of industry-standard web gear. But framing for the Fireline is an art of walking a line that lets the wearer maintain agility and mobility while carrying 50+ lbs. for days on end.
  • Like Voltron, multiple elements combine and work in concert to form a system greater than the sum of its parts. The Fire-specific yoke features our patented Futura adjustment system that telescopically adjusts to any user’s torso length, and houses a framesheet/adjuster whose aircraft-grade 7075 Aluminum stay is pre-curved to match the contour of the upper back. In the body of the bag, HDPE plastic backed by a vertically mounted fiberglass rod form the foundation of the framing, bridging between the yoke and the structure of the Fire belt. A patented lumbar system ties into the structured wings of the belt, completing load transfer through the body to anchor in the hips and core.
  • Zip-access main compartment allows versatility, visibility for organization, and additional internal pocketry
  • CAL FIRE SPEC Model Includes HYDRAPAK® 3.1L OHY Hydration Reservoir included (CAL FIRE Spec 1728 required), featuring all-black bite valve hardware, dust cover, and insulated hose
  • Low-riding lumbar design for efficiency during ground-level work, whether sawyer, swamper, or scraper
  • Angled pack bottom combines with compression straps to eliminate shelter slap and chafe
  • Structured belt, compatible with MOLLE- or buckle-attach accessories, provides support for equipment
  • Spandura panel stretches to accept overloads while also providing compression
  • Internal hydration sleeve designed around Hydrapak® 3.1L OHY reservoir; can also hold certain 5L reservoirs
  • Two additional sleeves and a zippered detail pocket help with internal organization
  • Retailored wing pockets’ low-cut front enables firefighter to reach fuel and water bottles while wearing pack
  • Wing pockets hold up to three fuel bottles, three water bottles (40oz Hydroflask®, FSS bottle) or one 64oz Hydroflask® growler per side
  • Redesigned lower lid-attach system secures two fuel bottles, giving a carry option where H2O contamination is a concern
  • Fusees fully zip away for rotor-wing crew shuttles
  • Double-layering and additional reinforcement in high-wear areas
  • External detail pocket gives easy access to small items like headlamps, flagging, and batteries
  • Haul handle on upper yoke can also double as location for hanging fiber tape and flagging
  • Daisy chains over shoulder pads for hanging accessories and other goods
  • Pinstripe 3M™  reflective
  • HOTSHOT LID and HOTSHOT SHELTER CASE MOLLE included

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fire packI bought this fire pack about a month ago and I've been to a couple fires with it already. This pack is the Cadillac of fire packs. I've fought wild land fires for nine seasons now and I've had a few different kinds of fire packs, and by far this one is the best one. It's comfortable, easy to adjust, it stays in place where it's not swinging all over the place while you're swinging a tool digging line or hot spots. I can't feel the weight I'm carrying as I did with my previous packs. It's worth the money, don't go cheap spend the money you won't regret it. I'm glad I finally decided to get one from mystery ranch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best quality pack on the market hands down. The best pack available on the market. Don't look at other ones (unless Mystery Ranch) because they will eventually let you down. This pack has multi purpose applications all over it. If something has a purpose= it has another. Easy to use large zippers controlling pockets, material that's bullet proof, and all that weight on your core, not shoulders, is amazing. It takes some adjustments, but when you get it figured out it's your home away from home. The large side pockets for fuel, water etc. Is amazing. I lost too much weight this season and had to get a smaller lap belt and contacted mystery ranch. A actuall human being immediately answered the phone and helped me with ordering another one pronto. Best customer service I have ever seen. If you are questiong this because of price= it pays for itself self. Thank you Mystery Ranch for making this pack and continue being awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great!Bought it a month ago and have been putting it to good use already on fires here in Washington. Super sturdy and very comfortable. Love the pouch set up and the organization capabilities. Only thing I guess could be added is a small pouch in front of the water pouches for radios to go and be easily accessible not a problem how it is currently tho. All in all super happy I bought one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Workhorse of a packFirst off, I'm not a hotshot. I didn't buy this pack to become a hotshot nor to look like a hotshot while out on the trail. I'm a volunteer trail worker and was looking for something other than your standard fall-apart-in-a-season daypack to haul tools and supplies out on the trail for 8+ hours at a time. I agonized back and forth over whether or not to shell out the coin for this pack. It's WAY more money than I wanted to spend on something I was sure I was going to destroy in a season or two. It's now been in service for about a month and I am SO glad I went with this pack. It's the most comfortable 'work pack' I have ever owned. It's so comfortable I find myself leaving it on while working, even when I'm the guy hauling all the fuel and bar oil for 2 saws. I'm still unsure how long it will last, but fairly certain I will get my money's worth out of it. It's expensive, but well worth it in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adjustable harnessI bought this 3 yrs ago and it is still going. I love the angled fire shelter box that keeps it off your back. The adjustable harness is wicked. I wish they could make a similar pack for day hikes. I liked it so much that I recently bought three more for my other staff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from built for the jobI have two fire seasons with this pack. It gets the job done. plenty of room for hydration in 105* 24 hour shifts and still can pack up a double female, gated wye, mop up kit, maps, GPS, food, fuel and other necessities. If you have to hump hose packs in a Gasner roll, life sucks. If its doughnuts then they work ok with the pack. The best feature is the ability to work with all that on your back. The ergonomics make this a winner

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ReviewI have gotten this a few weeks ago. I love it!! Its not 100% perfect. Well built, easy and customizable. The only complaint is mabe a little more organization pockets in main pack however the current setup helps keep me modular, mobile and cut the fat off the gear i look to take on the line.
