Rated 2 out of 5 by Hiker from Cannot RecommendI am a big fan of Mystery Ranch packs, have a number of them. This is the first one in which I am disappointed. Take a look at the photos of the pack, the placement of the large bottle pockets vs the height of the hipbelt. Even for a dexterous person, the large bottle pockets are not readily reachable when carrying the pack, making it necessary to dismount the pack even for me to retrieve a large water bottle from one of the two pockets. If you look at the design, the pockets could easily have been lowered enough to make accessibility on the fly good, without dismounting the pack. The large otherwise useful pockets are simply too high, maybe only by a few inches, but enough to be inaccessible on the fly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Casey4109 from Great packI was very surprised with the mvp 900 I previously had the hotshot but it was lacking space the mvp 900 has more than enough space for water your mre hose clamp ect. My favorite part is where the fire shelter is places it is stitched on all four sides do when your hiking it doesn't hit your lower back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuck from Best of Both WorldsGreat for bigger fires where you need more supplies and the 900 pack and great to have a stripped down shelter harness for smaller fires. However, I’m confused on how the hydration system mounts to the frame when the 900 pack is installed. I’m thinking about adding the hydration system but does it fit on the frame when only the pack is off or does it squeeze between the pack and harness?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cervesas from No less than expectedHaving owned a previous mystery ranch pack my expectations were pretty high. Usability, function, comfort, it’s all there as with any of the MR Fire packs. Once you figure out how it works, it’s pretty easy to swap configurations on the Shift 900 MWP, and I love it. Unfortunately, I would recommend the additional purchase of the hydro pack or other water bottle holder because without the main Shift pack attached there is no real place for water. Great pack overall, and I haven’t scratched the surface of what this thing is capable of yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AB Grounds Keeper from Good durable line packI purchased this a replacement line pack at the beginning of the season and have been using it ever since on RX burns, and wildfires. I spend a lot of my time around dozers and tractor plows as an operator, as well as walking and flagging as a swamper. I love the flexibility of taking the upper bag off for RX, IA and when I am running heavy equipment. The small bag on the lower pack is large enough for fencing pliers, some flagging, compass or GPS, and some butteries. The upper bag is smaller than regular line packs, but it is more than adequate for essential items. It is easy to attach and remove from pack. If I am working out of equipment, I have used the upper bag as a stand alone bag and fits nice in a cab. So far I am very impressed with the Shift 900.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jackie27 from Shift 900 MWPI needed an upgrade and the Shift 900 MWP seems to be what I need. It's modular and opens with full zips allowing me to access the pack to depth.
