Rated 5 out of 5 by from VersatileWhat I love about the beartooth is the versatility. Remove the lid and compress it down and it’s as good as a metcalf or pintler for a great daypack. Great for the big loads and prevents overpacking. Anyone will tell you that you pack (unless very disciplined) to the size of your pack. Good organization without being over the top with hundreds of pockets but enough to separate the big items from the common use items. Lastly. Finally a MR pack that’s easy to access the sleeping system in the bottom without pulling everything out. Sure the Marshall allows you to do this but sometimes you don’t need the 105L pack but want that capability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beartooth 80 taken through the Beartooth MountainsI took the BT 80 on a 4 day-30 mile back trip through the Beartooth Mountains in Southern Montana July 25, 2021. Amazing trip. The pack performed flawlessly. I was packing around 50lbs in a group of 4. I was amazed at how well this pack distributed the weight once it was on. We had steep climbs up and descents, along with long flat portions. Great prep for Elk season in the Breaks. The hip belt and harness system were superb! I especially loved the ease of access at night when setting up camp and repacking the next day when breaking camp. I added the day pack "Brain" which I used when fishing from camp. Highly recommend this pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely comfortable, just enough organization!Purchased the beartooth 80 about a month ago I’m hoping to do some backpack hunting. So far I have taken it on multiple day hunts for deer in southern AZ as well as a three day elk hunt in northern AZ, and it has exceeded all expectations. I was a bit worried on the size of the pack for a day hunt, but it compacted very well and had no issues. As far as the elk hunt, again it performed outstandingly and ended up packing out an entire cow elk off the mountain with it. Extremely comfortable and love the 270 degree zipper; was able to get items from different areas of the bag without having to dump all of my items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy AccessThe Beartooth 80 is my go-to pack for Spring Black Bears. It’s slim design makes it ideal for spot & stalk in heavy timber and tree stand hunting. I also wanted a bigger pack (5000ci) that had easy access to things I need while in a tree stand...the zipper design allows that. No other tree stand pack looked this good, everything else out there looked like a book bag. When I need to do more than a long day hunt, I attach the lid and I’m ready for a three to five day bear hunt. I have a well curved lower back. The load shelf, makes it easy to haul in 40-50lb dog food bags for my bait barrels. The generous padding at the lumbar and belt makes it comfortable to wear while hunting and haul out heavy loads after tagging out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pack out thereI bought this pack about 2 month ago, I had a MR 6500 that I was issued in the military(great pack, but I wanted a load shelf). This new Beartooth 80 is your standard amazing quality you expect from a Mystery Ranch product. Light weight, quality stitching, plus the new bag design is awesome. It bridges the gap between the Metcalf and Marshall. The new frame is more comfortable than the previous guide light also. And these new auto locking buckles are amazing. I can't wait to haul a couple elk and deer out this fall, I'm sure it will be amazing as all my previous MR packs have been.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design & Size!I was really stoked when I found out MR was coming out with a new pack! I really like the design. I believe a lot of hunters will appreciate the 270 degree zipper design and the options you have from that. Just enough pockets with a clean look. The size is great as well. More than enough space for a 6 day hunt. The new frame is awesome as well. Extremely comfortable and one of the toughest bags on the market. I like the accessories that MR has to offer as well. I’ll have this bag for many hunts to come! One thing I would like to see is a lid offered in blaze orange.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pack!I used this pack for multi day DIY Elk hunt. It has lots of storage and pockets for organizing gear. The frame and waist are comfortable once adjusted properly. My pack weighed around 60 lbs with gear, bow, food and water and I had no issues. There are lots of straps for cinching everything down which is good however, they are kind of cumbersome for quick access. I did not get to use the overload feature on my hunt but it worked great with a sandbag while I was training for the trip. A couple of upgrades would be deeper side pockets as a Nalgene barely fits and loops for trekking poles. Overall, it is a really good pack that I plan to use for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs great.I was debating between this and the Metcalf. I bought this Beartooth 80 and took the time to fit it to my height/measurements. YouTube videos helped. Ended up hauling two Bucks over a weekend this last hunting season in Northern California. The pack performed great. My only complaint is that there are so many buckle straps that I ended up confused on where one was supposed to end up. Familiarize yourself with all the buckles, features etc. Overall, I appreciated the meat-shelf area that opens up between the frame and fabric-pack.Pros: - Many buckle straps- Meat-shelf- ComfortableCons:- Many buckle straps/ can be confusing via headlamp in the dark.- Slight squeak noise while hiking/hunting.
