At Mystery Ranch, we respect your right to keep your personal information private. We wrote this Privacy Policy to make sure you understand the type of information we collect, when and from where we collect it, how we use it, who we disclose it to, and finally your rights and choices with respect to it. This information may be collected through the mail, Mystery Ranch’s retail store and wholesale accounts, MysteryRanch.com and other websites that link to this Privacy Policy, and any mobile services offered by Mystery Ranch (our “Services”).

In sum, this Privacy Policy explains: 1) what information Mystery Ranch and its parent, subsidiary, and affiliate companies (collectively, "Mystery Ranch", "we", or "us") collects and why we collect it; 2) how we use this information; 3) who we disclose it to and why and, 4) your rights and choices with respect to this information.

Please read this policy carefully!

What Information We Collect and Why We Collect It

Personally Identifiable Information ("PII")

We collect PII when you provide it to us through your use of MysteryRanch.com (e.g. when you create an account, purchase a product, sign up for our email newsletter, leave a review, etc.) or when you call in an order, request or concern to our customer service team and give any personally identifiable information over the phone to an employee or contractor of Mystery Ranch. Note: This also applies to individual and bulk custom OEM orders placed through MysteryRanch.com or a call-in order. In addition, we may collect PII automatically when you use our Services, such as information about your computer or devices you use to access our Services and information about your user activity and browser habits via cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and other tracking technologies about your online activity, and interaction with our emails and mobile advertisements.

In addition, we may combine the PII and Non-PII we collect from you with additional information provided by third-parties (such as signing up for or linking a Google or Facebook account). While we would never consciously collect or obtain data about our customers in an unethical manner, we will not be held responsible if we inadvertently obtain data from a third-party source that was collected in an unethical manner. However, if we learn that any third-party PII was collected unethically, we will cease using such data and will take steps to prevent our collecting that PII again. Please contact a Mystery Ranch customer service representative if you think your PII was provided to or collected from a third-party in an unethical manner.

Finally, we will not collect your PII unless you give us express or implied consent to do so in the first place. For more information on the differences between express vs. implied consent, check out this website provided by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) enforcement agency: www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/internet/infograph.htm.

If you decide you would like us to stop collecting your PII, simply contact a Mystery Ranch customer service representative or click here. We will also seek to comply with customer Do Not Track (DNT) requests submitted through their web browsers pursuant to the California Online Privacy and Protection Act (CalOPPA). Links to Third Parties and Social Media

Our website may contain links to third-party online properties. Such third parties have their own policies that govern their collection, use, and disclosure of information. We suggest that you read their privacy policies to learn about their practices.

Social media provides tools that many of our customers use and enjoy, and we include links to various social media platforms on our websites. For example, here are links to Facebook, Google (including YouTube), Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram’s privacy policies – all companies that Mystery Ranch works with frequently (and provides links to on our website):

Keeping Your PII Safe

At Mystery Ranch we understand that a privacy policy is only effective if we abide by the terms we have spelled out. To that end, we have endeavored to institute reasonable and appropriate physical, electronic, and administrative measures to safeguard the security of your personal information. If you feel that your information isn’t safe or that we are not otherwise abiding by our own policies, please contact us immediately (contact information below).

However, when you do communicate with our customer service representatives via email or social media, these communications may not be encrypted or otherwise protected. For that reason, we ask that you do not include or share sensitive information via these communication channels.

Retention

We plan to retain your personal information only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law. When we determine that we have no ongoing legitimate business need nor lawful legal ground to process your personal information, we will take steps to delete, anonymize, or aggregate it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will store your personal information until deletion is possible.

Mystery Ranch determines retention based primarily on the type of record being retained. However, because a particular category of personal information may appear in different types of records, each with different retention periods, it may not be possible to specify a universal retention period for each particular category of personal information. Instead, the criteria used to determine our retention periods include:

  • The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide the Services to you (for example, for as long as you have an account with us or keep using the Services);
  • Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, certain laws require us to keep records of your transactions for a certain period of time before we can delete them); or
  • Whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations).

What’s Changed? Updates to our Privacy Policy.

Mystery Ranch may change our privacy policy from time to time. We will post all changes to this webpage and place a notification on our homepage. If you have provided us with your email address, we may also send you a notice. Unless we obtain your express consent, any significant policy changes will apply only to information collected after the new policy becomes effective. The new policy will not apply to any information collected under any earlier privacy policies. Please check this webpage for updates and changes regularly. As our privacy policies evolve, you will be able to access prior versions here.
