Rated 4 out of 5 by TravisJ11 from Almost perfectI’ve had this for a few weeks. I’m 5’10” and it’s fits pretty good. Goes from my belt line to my shoulders. This has plenty of room! I can fit 3 fairly thick jackets and a few snacks for the family inside and 2 32 ounce h2o bottles in the outer pockets. The pack is as comfy as you’d expect from Mystery Ranch. I like to wear my packs high, the only con is that there’s a stiff edge near the top zipper that digs into the back of my neck when I look up. I wish this pack had the future harness and when I turned it upside down, my water bottle fell out of the pocket and broke the lid. I wish those pockets were deeper and maybe had an elastic tie. The price is pretty steep too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Special K from The Gold StandardI'm a former SERE instructor in the USAF and a GWOT veteran. The Gunfighter 24 is the "Gold Standard" in 24-hour assault packs. I consider it the premier "scout" pack (for hunting), as well. Here's how I make the most of the space in the pack: I use (2) 27 oz. single-walled Kleen Kanteens in the side pockets (use camo neck gaiters to hide the glare from the cans) for, a High-Speed Triple Taco in the webbing within the top of pack to hold 3 mags, and a Snugpak Jungle Bag strapped to the exterior webbing on the bottom. All my 24-hour gear fits nicely in the interior with room for (2) MREs at the top. You don't need more space than what it offers, and I appreciate that Mystery Ranch doesn't add TOO much to the bag, so that I can customize it accordingly. The materials are top-notch, and the stitching is strong. Best of all, it's made in America for greatest (American) fighting forces in the world.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Doc J from Excellent design, lacking some detailsBought this pack without knowing much about it but trusting the brand. I am fortunate enough to have been issued or given several MR packs before, and have used them hard at work all over the world. Got this pack to fill a niche, not knowing much about it since it is so new and very few pictures/ reviews were available. Pros: - EXCELLENT design. I don't know how they did it but this pack rides very well almost empty as well as crammed completely full, without using compression straps. The 4- zipper design works really well, making it possible to use it as more or less a top loading pack or easily getting to stuff in the bottom of the pack if needed. Well placed grab handles.- It is MUCH lighter then my other MR packs (MOLE, 3DAP, RATS, Comodo) but seems to be holding up well. Excellent zippers. (I have never seen MR zippers fail)- Familiar and practical internal pockets/ organization. Possible to store longer items behind the mesh pockets, hanger for hydration system.Cons:- My pack has no web keepers for any straps except the hip strap. The shoulder and sternum straps are extremely long, perfect if wearing the pack over armor but web keepers should in my opinion be included. - The side stretch pockets are.. weird. They are very wide but at the same time very short. Neither 1L nor 0.5 L Nalgene bottles will stay in it when moving around. I would not put anything in them that I am not willing to lose. - Personal preference: I missed a pocket of some kind where I could put stuff i want to protect from impact (Glasses, phone...). Both the lower front pocket and inside lateral mesh pockets sit directly against the outside of the pack. (Solved it by putting an old BFG admin pocket on the PALS panel inside the pack)Overall, happy. Best back of it size I have tried. I will use for everything from daily errands, to working in warzones to back country skiing. Would love to se it produced in other colors, black maybe?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mike RLTW from Very comfortableI have used this pack for a couple weeks now. It is very comfortable and has plenty room for all my kit. Very pleased with it. Only suggestion is to make the bottle pockets taller and wider. They hold a thin 1litre bottle but not the wider ones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Army Guy from Great daypackBought this pack about a month ago and very happy with it. The quality is top notch, as to be expected with the price point. It's a great pack for day trips, lightweight field use, or as a flight carry-on. The small external pockets make storage of small, quickly-accessible items very convenient. I wish that the side pockets were slightly larger - my 32oz Nalgene barely fits in them. And, wish the main compartment was 2 inches wider and deeper. However, it remains a great pack that will get daily use and meet a variety of needs for me for the foreseeable future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Patriot from Its pretty much perfectOrder this bag a few days before a match, wrong bag color came, they next day aired the replacement for me since i had sold my old bag already. Hang a small or med Gp pouch inside for kestrel and RF. Its slim easy open lets me get to my support bag at the bottom fast. Not to mention, the match, 1st overall. Thanks MR for getting me the gear i needed to focus and take home another Win.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Doc1017 from Good intentions but not great executionGood layout but there is no dedicated water bladder pocket, the straps are too thin, pockets on sides can't hold water bottles, and small pockets on front are so tight you can't fit much of anything in there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TimHand from Great zipper SystemSo I initially bought it as more of a 24hr-48hr bag. However, it quickly became just a day bag. It works pretty much as expected from a day bag. It sits comfortable on me without a plate carrier but with one it's kinda annoying. Don't exceed 20lbs in this pack it becomes super uncomfortable to hike with beyond that; you might even be able to push it to 25lbs. My honest opinion on the price is that it's exceedingly overpriced for a 24hr bag. The fit and purpose makes it feel like a $250.00 bag at most. At the price point its at your just paying for the brand name.
