Rated 5 out of 5 by DNRB4DNF from Right sizedThis is an excellent sized pack for a 24 hr tour at the firehouse. I don't carry a laptop so the gunfighter 14 fits all I need for a shift. I've been using my MR 3 DAP for the last 11 years, an outstanding pack also, but better suited for camping and multi-day trips. The gunfighter 14 is insanely light for a day hike and the side pockets fit Klean Kanteen 20 oz bottles. This pack is US made and Berry compliant, a big selling point for me. I hope this new material is as tough as the 500D of my 3DAP. I look forward to many years of service from this pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave from Perfect Day Bag SizeI bought this bag 1 month ago and have used it daily since then. I'm a civilian contractor so I use it to carry a small IFAK, a ditty bag of possibles, a small binder, a few drinks, and a handful of other small tools and I have room for a little more at the end of the day. The double zip lid works perfectly. The only thing that might be able to be improved is if there was a way to make the side release buckle access a little easier. In terms of hassle getting it open it's like a 2 out of 10. Otherwise, across the board, great small pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Thomas from Very well built for a small packI have had the pack for only a few weeks, so I can’t say how it’ll perform in the long run. But it is very well made and the materials seem to be high quality. The shoulder straps are plenty long as it goes over my motorcycle jacket easily. My only complains are that the side pockets are too small for a Nalgene bottle, and only the waist belt has Velcro keepers for the excess webbing. The shoulder and sternum straps don’t have keepers, and are quite long. I’ve daisy-chained the excess for now and will tape up when I’m sure I have them adjusted right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great pack just had to work through a few thingsI have had this pack in-service for two weeks now. Let’s start with the good. Very ergonomic and feels great while being carried on the back. Good size for daily use. Good pocket design and placement. Multi cam option is nice. My issues. I removed the original flimsy backboard and replaced it with a stiff one I bought separately. The original zipper pulls felt cheap so I replaced them with ones from a different pack. The padding that sits against the body was easily and quickly frayed by contact with Velcro that came on the waist strap. The webbing has a ton of extra length that is now managed by Velcro cable ties I had to buy separately. The top handle is great for grabbing to carry but bad for hanging on a hook. The handle probably bothers me the most. I’m going to have to find a way to hang it that won’t interfere with zipping the main pocket and feels more secure than the handle. I bought this pack because it is made in America, good layout, good color, and I thought it would be durable. You have to decide if the pack is worth the price. I feel I’m having to adjust too many things for this pack to give me that premium feel I was looking for. But the fact is, I bought it and I’m going to stick with it to really test out that durability long term.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 68israel68 from Love the simplicityBag is lite and veritile. As of now have used it for a couple outings. Hiking and beach going. It does carry your essentials. Change of clothes Xl towel and a speaker for my beach going. Anything more would be hard. I do have the stick it attachment which helps me seperate my wet or dirty items from the main comparment. It is a bit price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Harlan from Instant ClassicI bought this as an all-around adventure and mission pack, and I couldn't be happier. It's small enough for quick pursuits up the mountain and big enough for a 25# pig egg when rucking when paired with a plate carrier. This is a great assault pack for QRF missions and can easily be assimilated into a full mission loadout as a resupply pack. The only thing I would change is making longer shoulder straps, they cut the arm-pit a little bit if you have a big chest and are wearing body armor.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jumpyboi from I Dont Know What They Were ThinkingI wanted to love this bag but I'm returning it for three reasons: 1. Frustrating Shape. This bag is vertically shaped like an egg; thick in the middle and tapering to a small area on both ends. The online photos are very generous in minimizing the appearance of this egg shape but, in practice, it significantly reduces the practicality of the bag. I often throw a Pelican R20 or R40 Case in the bottom of my bag to protect valuables and anchor the bottom of the bag so it remains upright, however this bag is tapered to such an extend that this is impossible and this bag will not remain upright under any circumstances. I do not understand why MR would not simple extend the bottom profile out another 3-4 inches to better allow for the stacking of items and increase the amount of useable internal space. It is VERY small. You will fit a single mid layer in this pack with very little room for anything else. A 15in Laptop in a thin sleeve fits sort of sideways and is very awkward to fit through the lid. A BattleBoard FIST 4.0, like the laptop, fits but barely and prevents anything else from practically being added to the pack. 2. The Side Molle and External Elastic are Useless. A small pack is no problem if you can expand the capacity with additional pouches. Because MR decided to give the Gunfighter 14 a 2x4 side panel, it is incompatible with the majority of aftermarket administrative pouches. Even more frustrating, it is incompatible with MR's own Small Rip Zip Pouches which require a 3x4 panel. The MOST frustrating part is the side of this pack is SO CLOSE to being large enough to fit a 3x4 panel but the designers deliberately chose to only go with the 2x4 when creating it. The elastic pouches on both sides located below the molle will not fit a 32oz Nalgene (knew that before purchasing) but it also doesn't fit anything else. iPhone 15 Pro will just sit flush with the top and a 16oz Nalgene will technically fit but not if the internal storage area is filled to any practical capacity. In a field environment, these elastic pouches would be for trash and wrappers, nothing else. 3. The Material is Light, Almost Flimsy. I know their goal was to reduce weight, but this pack just does not feel like a MR Military-Line Product. My Jump Komodo feels like a tank and I was prepared for a small step down in material durability with the Gunfighter 14, however I am genuinely concerned that this pack would easily rip if I pulled it wrong out of a HMMWV or walked through a thick patch of woods. I am attracted to the MR Brand first and foremost by the build quality and durability, but this just isn't it. When coupled with the issues listed above, I just can't justify keeping this pack even though I wanted to love it. I am the biggest Mystery Ranch fanboy, but I just don't understand who this pack is for and why they made these design decisions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sean from Almost perfectBag is well put together. Only gripes are minor, webbing on underside of shoulder straps grab patches (velcro) very easily and is now frayed after only a month/handful of uses. Additionally the back padding/support slot is just too small to fit a 3L bladder.
