Rated 4 out of 5 by Sapper16 from Great Design! Only 1 tiny hiccup hereWhat is a good solution to fixing the draw-cords on the small pockets?? I LOVE my RipRuck for my every day carry in construction across the nation. 5 star review was so close but these little rubber strands break so soon! The bootlace cord you can pull is excellent but the pocket remains closed unless you anchor your pull at the plastic closure. At this price point and reputation I expect bombproof latches/zippers/cords, as anyone would. I’m thinking D-cord string from a compound bow to lace through the plastic latch where the magnet holds the pocket closed. I should not have to modify a mystery ranch bag to make the pockets dependable. A waxed canvas bag with steel hardware of this would be 100%

Rated 5 out of 5 by Teriyaki boy from Many improvements for Gen 2!Several (good) improvement that makes this Gen 2 design very useful for EDC. Size increased to 24LVelcro loop panel in laptop compartmentLots of external daisy chains Magnetic closuresLighter materialHere I also post a picture next to UA24...RR24 is basically wider and deeper. New shoulder straps and back material are...not my fav. I’m old school and prefer space mesh. New material is very urban and similar to Canadian dirty bird design. I guess that keeps weight down, but will see how hot they get in tropic weather here. If there will be Gen 3, I hope slots for pens and maybe document pocket on front flap will complete the EDC purpose. Overall this is a nice EDC pack and I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Panda from Just Wow.I mean this pack is great. The Organization in the laptop area is amazing it can fit a 16 inch MacBook Pro inside of a soft case perfectly as well as an iPad Pro 11 inch and more! The front main rip pocket is great and the little nut pockets up front are the perfect size for sunglasses or a cellphone! the only thing that would make this better is a place for a water bottle and a brighter interior lining so it's easier to see your stuff but im nit picking at this point. don't think......BUY IT!!!! There is a reason why I exclusively by Mystery Ranch products and this is the exact reason why. Fit finish and Materials is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tommy from Best daily carry backpack (add a Forager pouch)The pack is fantastic for daily carry. I use it for work. Easily fits an iPad and my laptop with plenty of space for my tech pouch / cord organizer. The front small pockets are very convenient for small items, but their location makes them less convenient for quick access as they are on the bottom so you have to life the pack up to get to them. For this reason the pack doesn’t have great quick access to little items (eg phone, AirPods, keys) so I strongly recommend you also purchase a Forager pouch which easily attaches to the top of the bag (large size Forager). Only other downside: no water bottle pouch. That’s a big miss in my opinion, so I won’t travel with this bag, but the other features make it a home run for EDC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ThorRabbit from Great for keeping gear creep down.Purchased two of these bags as get home car bags. Living in the DC area my wife and I are concerned with another 9/11 event that grid locks I-95 and we will have to hoof it back the 30-miles home. Our previous car bags had become these huge heavy apocalypse bags that would break a mule’s back. These bags work great to keep the gear down. Took the bag to the DC auto show for the week to see how it would hold up slung on my back with 10 lbs of gear. It was great…the bag, not the show. The bag performed well and the straps were comfortable. It does ride high on my 6’4” frame.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Joe1 from Functional, Comfortable, StylishI’ve been carrying the RipRuck 24 for about (6) weeks now and have been enjoying it. I use it as a daily carry / commuter and it rocks my laptop, tablet, accessory and power cords, water bottle and a layer well. I really like the integrated document sleeve and rip-style secondary pocket. It carry’s well, seems strong and durable, and looks great. Though there isn’t a specific “wow,” factor about this pack IMO,but it does do everything I was hoping for and stays compact in the process. Thanks MR for a sweet pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jessica from Amazing school backpack (but needs side pockets)The Rip-Ruck 24 is an almost perfect school backpack! My son (12) has been carrying one for almost 3 years. It has been fantastic - has held up to daily use, holds and organizes well, and looks great too. I recently purchased another for his younger brother. My two other kids have used north face backpacks for years and it seems like I am buying a new one for them almost every year. Mystery Ranch has held up so much better. The biggest drawback is the lack of the side water bottle holder (ie. the side stretch woven pockets - they are on the 15 and 32). The 24 will mostly likely work thru middle school but I worry it will become too small for Highschool. Hence….Mystery Ranch, please make a Rip Ruck 28!! I would do anything to have Mystery Ranch take the exact design of the 24 and make it bigger (say 1750 cu-ins with added cu-ins more in the depth of the pack than height), plus add the side woven pocket. I’ve purchased the 32 hoping that it could be the next step up for my 12 yr old, but it is just too much of a backpack for everyday (too tall, too bulky, organization not as good). The 24 has a two big sections - the back with laptop sleeve and the front rip-zip compartment. The 32 has a more narrow back compartment that seems like it is only for a laptop while the front rip-zip is really large. I think the 24 is better balanced and makes it easier to organize for school. Our family has a bunch of Mystery Ranch packs, mostly for day hikes/everyday carry/travel. The Rip-Rick 24 is our favorite for durability and versatility. Could be a perfect 10 if it had the side woven pockets!
