A daypack and meat hauler all in one

The newest generation POP UP 30 offers a daypack that stays low-profile and functional during your hunt…at least until you need to do some serious load lifting. That’s when this pack’s OVERLOAD® feature allows you to instantly transform it into a bona fide meat hauler. Its telescoping frame offers a hefty 80-lb. capacity that houses the bulk of the weight close to your back for exceptional comfort during long hauls back to your rig. When you need to get moving after a kill, the POP UP 30’s face compression securely stows your weapon, freeing your hands for trekking poles or navigating difficult terrain. Ample pockets and storage compartments stow tools and rations close at hand, and there’s still room for a hydration reservoir to keep you in top physical condition during long days in the field.

  • The POP-UP FRAME feature converts this daypack into a load-hauling system for those shorter, successful day hunts when shouldering out the brutal weight is necessary for extraction. This function allows the frame to easily expand and adjust to carry loads up to 80 lbs. It features expandable pole stays and a load shelf.
  • OVERLOAD® feature provides functional expandability via a load sling between the pack and the frame, allowing you to put the bulk of the weight closest to your back for optimal comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around best balanced platform.Was looking for a smaller platform as I have been running the metcalf. The metcalf has served me well in the colder months in az when I need more capacity. The pop up 30 fills the area been the small shoulder only camelback and the big ones. The pop up 30 fits great, it is narrow to stay between the shoulders and I can still carry out an elk. Excited for my hunts starting august. Blessings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great packI bought this pack after owning the Pop Up 28. I needed a little more room and I liked the changes to the pack. I packed out an elk with my 28 and would see no reason why I wouldn’t be able to do it with the 30. I will say some of the material for the straps doesn’t feel quite as heavy duty as those on the 28 and I kind of miss the front pocket for organization. Other than that it seems like it will be a great pack when I get to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t go wrong with the pop up seriesThe pop up series are amazing packs, I packed out my muley and my other 2 buddies muleys out of the MT coulees this yr. My pop up 30 handled a weeks worth of hard hunting and terrain. Where Mystery Ranch really shines though is the great folks in their repair shop. I had the bottom side strap on my 30 frame tear off so sent the frame in. They got the repair done in a reasonable time and I’m impressed at the workmanship. My packs good to go for next yr and the following yrs after thanks to the repair team.

Have packed multiple deer and elk out with it, bone in quarters and boned out meat they all performed well and are comfortable and adaptable to heavy loads. I have no doubt these packs will last a long time as I live in their fire packs for 6 months out of year and can a-test to their build quality and they put the same into these hunting packs. The Pop-up 30 is just right for a day hunt or an minimalist spike out pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impeccably built and funtionalOf all the hunting packs I looked at, this one was the most well designed and functional - right down the mounting screw on the top of the frame for an optics mount - I have my Spartan Davros head mounted there for both optics and a shooting rest. The pockets are in the right places, everything I need to carry has a place, and the expansion system is awesome. If you ever have to pack a quartered animal any distance, the Pop Up 30 more than pays for itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hunting packI bought this for a hunting pack. I wanted to take it out on a couple hunting trips before posting a review. Well, this pack has definitely exceeded my expectations! I used this pack on two different spot and stalk bow hunting trips in the ND Badlands. For those that haven't done that type of hunting before, it involves alot of walking, running, and maneuvering in difficult terrain to get within range of a buck (not easy to find that time of year, either). I love the adjustability of this pack, the expansion; and, when cinched down with everything in it, I love how quiet it is a well. The comfort of this pack as well, with a bit of weight in it, makes you forget you henge it on sometimes. I would definitely recommend this to others (I already did to tell of my hunting buddies and they reach bought one that day after seeing mine).
