Profession

I don’t know that I’m really a professional at anything… It’s a mixed bag depending on the time of year: Skier, mountainbiker, hydraulic systems tech, snowboard builder, pack mule.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, I've been running around and playing in the nearby Wasatch mountains for as long as I can remember. Somewhere along the way I met the right people to start getting invited on kickass adventures to weird places with skis or bikes. Though this keeps happening fairly regularly, I'm not at all convinced I'm good enough at riding the things to deserve it.

I’ve found that biking, skiing, and similar outdoor activities are outrageously fun no matter where you are, and not to be taken seriously (except for in terms of safety).

Though rather goofy and sometimes useless, they should absolutely be done as often as possible. I figure if you approach the outdoors with an attitude of fun and get out there often, you're probably doing it right.

Accomplishments:

  • Ski and bike antics published in the pages of mags such as Powder, Ski Journal, Backcountry, Ski, Skiing, Bike, Freehub, and Decline.
  • Featured in films such as Solitaire and Valhalla.
  • Regularly consumes more hot peppers in one meal than an average human will in two weeks.

What Mystery Ranch Packs do you Run?

  • For current packs, the Saddle Peak, Patrol, 3 Day Assault, and Coulee 25 are in the rotation, though the older BlackJack, Zeppelin, and Saddle Peak are probably my favorite ski packs ever.

Other Sponsors:

  • Patagonia, Moment Skis, Smith, Truck Gloves, CAST Touring, Yeti Cycles
