Rated 4 out of 5 by Kevin from Simple, plenty of room.I use this to hold my stethoscope and other gear I want to be immediately available when I work on an ambulance. It works well for this, but it’s actually bigger than I need it to be, while the next size down (hip forager) isn’t big enough. In my opinion, there should be a size between these two, that has a technical org panel for pens and the like. Pros: plenty of room, secure, good compression straps. Cons: when you take it off, the waist belt doesn’t stay in the adjusted position. This means it needs to be readjusted every time you put it on. Weird for a MR product. There are also no strap keepers, so it looks kind of messy. Also super weird for MR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pidge from Best. Bag. Ever.I work in the fashion industry, and have seldom come across a bag as thoughtfully-designed with such a great balance of form and function - and for less than $50 to boot! This bag is clearly designed to be used for a long time, with intuitive details and high quality materials. It can hold a surprising amount (my iPhone 8, small notebook, keys, chapstick, camera, and 16 oz water bottle), but is still light-weight, and supported by a hefty strap that can easily be adjusted depending on how you want to wear it. I purchased it initially for some extended travel, but will actually be using it as my everyday carry in New York City from now on. A huge thank you to the Mystery Ranch team for creating something truly beautiful and useful in this age of excess!

Rated 4 out of 5 by n1ck from Not so different in size than the Hip MonkeyI got a Hip Monkey and I love it, but it's a bit too big for most days. (I primarily use it for mountain biking.) Got this thinking it would be smaller... it is. But not by as much as I was expecting. The cinch straps on the side make it better for compressing the load down with does help the situation (something the HM is not as good at). And based on dimensions, I'm certain the Forager would be too small. Would be nice if MR made a hip pack in-between with a 1 1/2" buckle. The 2" buckle can be uncomfortable at times on a bike because of the way the body bends forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cawaga from LargeWas really surprised when this showed up. It's very pink and very large. I wasn't sure what to think at first. However I've used this in several different ways, as a running pack (I pulled out the pad and plastic), as a light day pack, a quick shopping bag, and as a bike bum bag. It's been able to manage all those uses easily, and depending on what I'm doing, I like being able to take out the pad and plastic when I need it or don't. It wasn't love at first sight, but this ended up being a big favorite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShakyKneesdd214 from Bigger than expectedI thought I would use this to carry around my wallet and some snacks on hikes but I can also fit 5 beers with the rest of my junk which is just great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thomas from Perfect sizeI love my bag, perfect size for my 32oz Nagele, water bowl, and leash for my dog with a little room to spare. Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, you can remove the rigid piece of plastic that helps give it shape, but I don't need to do that. The size is good to grab some essentials for a short hike. Might be a little big for a run around town.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Radmartigan from Could use some work, but decent.I wanted to carry this thing for a while before I posted an honest review. first off, the craftsmanship is what I would expect of Mystery Ranch. Even though their manufacturing is outsourced now. This is a solid bag. It's very large, I've got a full EDC kit and some extras with a little room to spare. My main complaint is that unless the straps are under tension, they don't stay cinched. I don't carry this around my waist, but sling it around my back like a slingpack. I find it easier to access the items inside. This is problematic because the straps remain fully extended and cannot be cinched up. I'm going to try and add some sort of rubber band around them to try and hold them in place to see how well it works. Annoying, but not a huge deal. Also, I wish there was more in terms of organization within the main zippered pouch. There's the small zippered pocket on the front, one large main zippered compartment and within the main compartment, there's a small zippered compartment along the inside back of the pouch. So basically 3 large zippered compartments. I'm using some zippered EDC style organizational pouches to keep everything where I can find it so I don't have to dig around in a large compartment for loose items. A decent bag for the money, if these small issues were fixed, I don't think you could find a better bag at this price. But as-is, it could be much better. Knowing what I know now, I would pass on this bag if I had to do it all over again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by calbear vet from Good replacement for a smaller bagI started using this as soon as I got it in the mail. It has a lot of room compared to other hip bags. The only down sides is the strap is a bit too wide, and the hard part inside the bag can't be removed. The compression straps are a really good idea. I like the ability to care more things when I go shopping.
