Rated 2 out of 5 by Dobe from DisappointedBeen using this bag for two months as DD to carry work items to/from sites, zippers and overall construction are great. Shoulder straps are so unbelievably cheap for a pack in this price range it's hard to comprehend. They've began fraying and will have no padding inside of 6-8 months by my estimate. This pack does not see extreme duty or any serious miles, hopefully this is an isolated Q/C to the 3 DAP. No matter how good the rest of the pack is I shouldn't have to take it out of the rotation to have shoulder straps repaired prematurely after hardly any real use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by paulvanyork from Love the pack - straps + back panel could b imprvdI was scared this bag was going to be huge on me (5'6 and replacing Blitz 30) but the Ranger Green somehow blends the size/aesthetics. The bag looks way better in person than depicted on the site. I am in love with the bag and almost scared to take it out as it was a considerable investment for me. It hasn't left the house yet but I already pulled some of the fabric from the straps' inside padding by coming into contact with some velcro web keeper I made and added myself to the strap pull ends. The main area of improvement would be to make the straps and back panel a solid material instead of something so delicate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rdj3332 from Love it, butA few months back my 3DAP was stolen out of my car. I carried it for over 8 years all over the world. Great pack. I bought this most current model as a replacement. I like the new cordura (lighter) fabric, zippers, and laptop pouch. However the shoulder straps lack the robust padding of the previous models and does not have the nice organizational pockets in the too pouch. Mostly for the shoulder straps are why i only gave it four stars. I also highly recommend MR put a zipper or velcro pocket where the plastic back panel is so that the user can quickly change out this panel for one that has aluminum or composite stays. Combined this with more robust shoulder straps the pack can easily accommodate 35 lbs or more comfortably.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ernestreview from Ergonomics could be improvedThis pack is about the most comfortable tactical backpack one can find, but in comparison to hiking pack brands, one can notice some obvious ergonomic flaws. I had to remove and resow the load lifters closer to the edge , which made a world of difference in shoulder comfort. The plastic backplate is pretty uncomfortable in any situation where I was moving around. It only seems to fit when I stand rigidly, removing it feels way better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Maxx from Another strap-related reviewI have a 2-3 year old 3DAP- used very rarely, maybe only 5 times with +20 lbs. The shoulder straps are shot in terms of the foam and comfort. I also have a 2016 Philippine made Sweet Pea whose straps are MUCH more substantial. I really love this pack and am super bummed that in their quest to enter the EDC and civilian market they've lost sight of what made them special. Gone the way of so many other US made brands. Listen to your customers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by cbaker317 from Bomb Proof packThis pack does everything from SAR day ops and jumping out of planes to carrying my laptops around town. I beat the crap out of my stuff and this bag has never failed me. My only complaint is that the waterproof zipper material has been chewed up by the zippers a bit but that's because I tend to tear the bag open. It hauls heavy loads surprisingly well, while still holding its shape when empty. I've owned it for a little over 3 years now, and although its covered in blood stains and battle scars, it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. This is the best do-it-all bag you can buy and will carry anything you need it too in any condition.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Firejack from Good pack but quality has dropped.I bought a used 3 day Assault about four years ago or so. It was so well made that I decided to spring for a new one this year. New shoulder straps feel like a wal mart pack now. Fewer organization options. Quality went down but price went up. If the price were lower I'd rate it a couple stars higher.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Newby from Quality down from previous 3 Day Assault purchaseI have two 3 Day Assaults, a desert camo I purchased about 3 years ago and the black I just purchased 2 months ago. I also have an ASAP and a few other MR products. I have been a big fan; however, this most recent purchase indicates an effort to reduce costs through lower quality build materials. For example:My black 3 Day Assault has much thinner shoulder padding than my Camo 3 Day Assault or my ASAP. Sometimes when I am carrying 20-30 lbs the padding on the new black 3 Day Assault flattens fully and I can feel the liner that maintains the form of the strap. This never happens with my ASAP or earlier 3 Day Assault. In addition, the Cordura material feels thinner. I am not certain if they used 1000D in previous models and now switched to 500D or just went to a different manufacturer. However the difference in material in the new black 3 Day Assault is noticeably different and feels like it will not hold up as long. I am not sure what is going on with the reduced build quality because the price actually increased between the two 3 Day Assault packs I purchased over 3 years or so. Maybe someone from MR will explain after I post this review. I am a big MR fan since they still try to make things in US, which is important to me. I am disappointed to see the quality take a step down, especially considering the price.
